Now you didn't think I was going to go to Brighton and not do any shopping did you?
Now I am not a huge fan of shopping....woah woah woah slow down, I know what you're thinking. I am a more "pop in, buy, pop out" kinda gal, I always seem to know what I want so it is very easy and I am great for quick shopping trips. However, I do have a few favourite shops and for those, I will spend all day browsing in them and Brighton has them all. I found myself with a lovely bunch of gift cards that I hadn't used so of course, I used them all up at the sea side...where else ay?
Now, I know what you're all thinking....all black? Well I'm afraid when it comes to clothes...monochrome is my thang.
So let's begin with my first clothing haul (eeesh!)
This awesome jumper comes from the ol' fave Urban Outfitters and even better is one of my favourite brands under the UO Umbrella, BDG. For some reason, I feel like BDG is just me in a brand, simple yet each garment always has an interesting detail - a twist to a classic if you will, comfortable (which is key) and most of all, it is wearable and not just a brand that follows the latest trend that will be gone next season. Anyway back to the jumper...it is an amazing slouchy fit which is perfect to feel snuggly in this horrible weather and it was an amazing £22 in the sale - BARG
At 5ft 2 I wouldn't normally go for a tailored cropped trew and in fact I have tried many in the past and it just never worked out between us but always aiming to try something a bit different I sotted these tangled up on a hanger buried in the sale racks, saw that beautiful S on the label and thought this could be the one. The fit of these are perfect and surprisingly don't make me look like I've been squashed so that everythings goes outwards. They have that classic high waisted 1950's crop to them which is great for my height and makes my legs look longer and if you don't mind me saying, perfect for the view from behind that plaid just hides that big bum right up...woohooo! At a brilliant £15 I couldn't resist UO rules once again.
Where do I start with this one....ok I saw it, pretty much yanked it from the rail so no one else could have it and ushered over to my boyfriend to ask if he would be embarrassed if I wore it out with him...luckily he said no and I think he may have been a bit jealous there wasn't one big enough for him. JOY. So I skipped off to the changing rooms and paraded round with it on as I knew that sort of behaviour was completely inappropriate outside that cubicle (is it?). Anyway, I was never a huge fan of the newest set of Star Wars films but I remember watching the original with my dad when I was little and thought it was awesome whilst not understanding any of it...so for that reason I had to buy it and for a measly £12 in Urban Outifitters (again)...it was mine all mine :)
It wouldn't quite be Je Suis Louise if there wasn't some sort of beauty purchase in a post so I couldn't resist picking up the amazing Tea Tree Water Toner from Lush. I have been in the market for a new toner for a while but never like to spend a hefty amount on them as they are one of the more minor steps in my routine so when I read about this product on many blogs I couldn't stop thinking of it and at a price of £3.95 for 100g or £7.50 for 200g...I think I bought in to a gooden. Since using it I have noticed any spots or red marks that have appeared are slowly fading away due to the antibacterial tea tree which my skin just loves. The girl that served me in the Brighton store was lovely as well which is a given in any Lush store, great product great shopping experience.
And last but not least is probably my fave of them all. I have had the same leather jacket for a good 5 or 6 years and we have shared many memories together but the holes in the arms, the broken zips, the buckles that are hanging off by a very thin thread are no longer cute or look retro...it just looks damn right dutty so when I saw this clean, quilted, intact pleather number in Dorothy Perkins for £49 it was love. I also struck gold as there was a 30% sale on all items in store AND I had a £20 voucher to splurge on...I was one happy bunny.
AS this is my first shopping haul, and I'm quite nosey, I'd love to see what you all have bought lately...any January sale bargains, any new year new you hauls? Link your blogs in the comments as I would love to have a look :)
